Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth & Hitchin is a quality homecare provider, delivering tailored support packages for clients in Baldock.

We offer specific times for all of our calls - there is no waiting around wondering if your breakfast visit is going to be 8am or 11am. We provide consistent and reliable CareGivers at the times specified and we endeavour to make the most of each moment we are there.

All of the team is fully vetted and trained and we encourage effective communication between all team members, clients and their families. The team is trained to spot changing needs, or any other concerns, and to report them appropriately so that we can act in a responsive way.

The service is flexible, from 5 hours a week all the way up to 24 hours a day. What makes us different is that we are all in this for the right reasons: we want to make a positive difference to our clients' lives and wellbeing.

Fun Fact: Baldock is regulalry mentioned in 'The Green Man' by the late, great, Kingsley Amis. The town is the nearest centre to the fictional pub owned and run by "Maurice Allington", the main character in the book.

How Does It Work?

Organising care for yourself or a relative can be daunting. There are so many considerations and it can be complex and stressful. Our friendly and knowledgeable office team is happy to share their expertise.

Our team will meet you at home prior to starting and we'll spend time getting to know you. We'll use all of this information to design a care plan which meets your needs. This could be companionship, personal care, help with day-to-day household tasks or simply a companion to share interests and enjoy hobbies with. Please click on this link for our full range of services.

We regularly update our What's On Where page which shows local groups and activities which older people can enjoy. We take some of our clients to these events and this can make a significant difference to their wellbeing.

We have a lovely team of dedicated CareGivers because we are careful with whom we bring into the team. We invest time training all team members to ensure they have the attitude and competencies required to deliver a high quality service. We'll do our very best to ensure you see CareGivers that are well matched to you.

You'll also have access to our system which shows the detailed record of each visit, as well as the timetable, so you can see who is coming and when.

What Clients Say About Our Service

"Right at Home supported our mum following a fall. The carers are thoughtful and kind, delivering in home support with a perfect balance of professionalism and common sense. They let mum take the lead, with encouragement and positivity. We could not have hoped for more. Thank you RAH, especially to Vicky and Emma who are stand outs. Highly recommend." "Right at Home provided wonderful care for our dad at the end of his life while we were providing palliative care for him at home. It was a very difficult time for us, and I'm not sure how we would have coped without the care provided by the Right at Home team." homecare.co.uk 24/11/2023

Our Ethos

Whether we provide companionship services, personal care, night support or any other type of support, Right at Home's ethos is that we do not provide 'rushed' care. We make full use of the time we are with you, however, we like to do this at the right pace, getting to know our clients and building trust.

Because of this, our care call durations tend to be longer. We have a preferred minimum time of 1 hour & we do not do less than 45 minutes.

Fun Fact 2: Baldock is one of Hertfordshire's oldest towns, with signs of people living there in the Neolithic period, way back in the Stone Age.

A Short History of the Village

Baldock is a market town in Hertfordshire, boasting a rich heritage with evidence of Paleolithic, Neolithic, and Bronze Age settlements that indicate the area has been inhabited since prehistoric times.

Once known as 'Beadocford' in the Roman period, Baldock was later granted a market charter in 1148 by King Stephen where it went on to thrive as a medieval market down, well known for its brewing industry.

Today, Baldock stands as a testament to its past, with notable landmarks like St. Mary the Virgin Church and a lively community spirit, showcased through its festivals and events, such as the Baldock Beer Festival.

Live-in Care

As well as our hourly homecare, we also offer a fully managed live-in care service. We source and manage live-in CareGivers to ensure the quality of care is delivered to our high standards whilst providing the necessary support to the live-in CareGiver that can be so important in ensuring the service matches our clients' wishes and needs. Live-in care can be more cost effective than residential care, especially for couples.

Each live-in care arrangement is different and we try to create a comfortable situation which works for everybody. So how does it work? Our live-in carer needs their own room and a small break during the day. Whilst in the house with you, our live in carer will follow the same bespoke care plan as we have for all of our clients.

The team at Right at Home actively manages the live-in care support to ensure it is meeting our high standards. This means we review care records on a regular basis, such as carers notes and medication administration. We check in with clients and carers & we physically come out and observe the CareGiver on a regular timetable. We work with you to find the most appropriate person who matches your personality and preferences.

Most people do not think too much about care provision until they really need to and it can be overwhelming when trying to work out the best route to take. If you would like to find out more about live-in care, or any of our other services, please do contact our friendly team today at Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin.
